What to do in case of plagiarism?

This global network we call the internet, any idea to get some original content is subject to be plagiarized. Today I will speak to the case of articles published on blogs, which have just been republished on other websites without permission of the author.
If you have a blog with some ranking and good positions in search engines, certainly you realize that other sites reproduced some of your posts without giving you any satisfaction. I've experienced here on the brooger and other sites.
The first reaction is usually anger, after all your work is being stolen by someone who simply make a copy / paste. Worse, often are bots that feed your feeds and automatically place the content on other sites. What can we do to stop it?!
Follow up:
Do not go into wars
Recently, a blogger my friend saw his copied content and reacted badly. He took advantage of the fact that they have done hotlink images to change the content and contacted the thief. The result was an exchange of threatening messages and attack on the server which eventually got the blog down for some time.
This kind of war does not help anyone. On the internet you never know who is on the other side, where he is and what can he can do. You should resolve things well, to avoid many problems.
Turn plagiarism in your favor
Let's be realistic - it is almost impossible to control all the content copied and to remove it from the internet. The greater your success, the more copies will emerge and all we have to do is to take advantage of it for something positive.
Something you should always do is put links in your articles to other blog articles. Besides being useful in the blog itself, means that if the article is copied it will contain links back to your blog. How many copies are automatic, and include these links to links Affiliate you may have. That means, you will make money with plagiarism!
Of course, if someone takes the contents and remove the links, without giving any credit and posing as the author, we have no compensation. In this case it is best time to contact the thief and ask for more or less friendly to include a link back to the blog, with the respective claims. In most cases, the shame of having been caught "stealing" and ease of access to the application lead to a positive response. You can even become a partner for the future, as clearly he is someone who admires your work.
A popular form of link building is submit articles to free article directory sites, or ask other sites to list our content. In return we receive links and other webmasters can copy these contents, sending yet more links to the author. Not very different from copying the blog. Moral: if we want to copy you make go ahead and do it provided there links back to the source!

Quick Note; thanks for following me on twitter!
With the advent of modern blogging software, and present day SEO tactics and resources, it is hard for someone to scrape your content and receive a legitimate ranking or credit. My experience has shown that most content is scraped by auto-blogging software anyway. So the true nugget of gold in your article is to always place links in your articles. That should do it.
Happy Holidays Everyone!
